Responding to Change:
From federal to municipal agencies, the government sector works within one the most dynamic environments of geographic information integration and management. Not only are government agencies responsible for diverse departmental needs, but must also keep pace with the changing demands of their community as a whole. Quality geospatial solutions can provide government agencies with a solid foundation to better understand and respond to these ever changing responsibilities including Smart City Programs. Also see our Case Studies for examples of recent Government projects.
Building on Solid Ground:
The ability to access and integrate various data sources makes GIS a powerful tool. However, with so many geospatial data sources available through online portals and archived historical data with limited metadata, maintaining a current and reliable mapping database to work from takes on a new significance and value. It is critical to confirm the spatial integrity of existing and new information sources in order to avoid costly errors and maintenance. Whether in assessment, utilities, emergency services, airport management or urban forestry building a strong foundation on accurate geospatial information translates into a sustainable and cost-effective GIS program.
Client Defined Licensing (CDL):
Successful GIS programs are built around client needs not around restrictive contract and licensing terms. Our clients control their own user licensing and distribution - deciding with whom and how their geographic information is managed an shared. Effective public systems rely on an open and free exchange of information. If licensing terms do not create this opportunity for the client, then you have to question the priority of a provider. Licensing should support the client and their goals, not the bottom line of the provider.
Moving Forward at Your Pace:
While geographic information advancements play a growing role in making for smarter and more responsive decision-making, government agencies are working at their own pace towards their own unique goals. The reality is that GIS, by nature, is versatile and scalable - and finding mapping solutions for government GIS programs should be no different. While some providers offer a single course of action, we believe there are many ways to approach a solution, whether it is building on an existing system or finding an entire new route, including Smart City Programs, it all depends on a government client's goals and needs.
Serving Communities:
Access Geographic has worked with state, county, and municipal agencies across North America on just about every size and scale. We honestly enjoy serving communities through geography. We understand the investment in geographic information is an investment in the future development of communities, and we take this very seriously. We look forward to working with you at whatever stage of implementation you find yourself and are always ready to discuss your goals and ideas - feel free to explore some of our Project Case Studies or Contact Us.
